• Description

  Towering over the average Imperium citizen at just above six and a half feet tall, Techmarine Aspirant Viktor fits the bill for the standard Adeptus Astartes template: large burly mass with a powerful will and a sharp mind. The deep blue shade of his eyes could encapsule even the most frigid of exteriors, if that were what he so desired. His chocolate brown hair rests tidily upon his head, trimmed rather short. His skin is a pale ivory pigment as a result of his augmentations and all of the time spent in his full armor. His voice is deeper than an average male of his stature; even without his helmet on, it's a bit gravely due to a mutation of his chapter's gene-seed.
  
  His bionic augmentations include a partial chest cavity replacement, a servo arm on the right side of his back for additional assistance during his work and heightened combat effectiveness, and a portion of the left side of his skull has been patched up with metallic alloy plating. His Mark 7 Aquila Power Armor bears a standard full-color design, painted with the color of steel and treated with a chrome finish. The right shoulder pauldron bears the chapter symbol on the right side: a black templar cross with a red cog containing a white lightning bolt (a symbol of the Mechanicus Cult) placed at the intersection. The visor lenses are colored a deep sanguine red and the trim along the pauldrons are shaded a dark green. While the armor of the Steel Confessors bears the Aquila symbol as all other armor does, the eagle between the spread wings has been replaced with the Mechanicus symbol, stating the overall allegiance the members of the Confessors swear loyalty to.
  
  Along with the integrated flamer within the servo arm implanted in his back, Viktor also carries a power axe used to hack through the enemies of the Cult Mechanicum as well as a heavy bolter to cut a bloody swathe through those that would stand in the way of progress. Upon his chest rests a sheathe in which an Astartes combat knife (though more likened to a shortsword) sits for utility or last-ditch efforts. Upon his hip, one can find a holster containing a standard-issue bolt pistol sidearm as a reserve weapon in the event of his primary ranged weapon failing.

• Biography

  Ever since his very conception, one could say that Vik was destined to become one with technology. Born to a small family upon the Mechanicum Forge World known as Agripinaa, the young boy has been exposed to the beliefs and duties of the Adeptus Mechanicus for his entire life. His mother and father worked as Techpriests of the cult; preachers of the Machine-God that spent their time speaking incantations for the various pieces of machinery on the planet in order to appease their God and to ensure that it all ran smoothly. Being around this mentality and learning how to repair and build things from a very young age, Viktor picked up the way of the Cult Mechanicum rather easily, and became overly adept at the craft to the point where he was considered for adoption into the cult.
  
  However, an Orkish assault on the planet would prove to be a change of his fate when the boy used his know-how to quickly re-wire a damaged mech in the open and was able to activate it when the army was near. Upon activation, its weapons opened fire on the greenskins and decimated their forces in mere minutes, their crude weaponry no match for a forge world automated sentry. This caught the eye of the Adeptus Astartes, whom then tested his mettle and recruited him as a Neophyte within a chapter of the Iron Hands known as the Steel Confessors. Upon completing his trials and serving his duty as a Scout of the Steel Confessors' Tenth Company, Vik was accepted as a Techmarine Aspirant under the watchful eye of an Iron Hands veteran, watching his progress and finding himself more and more impressed as the days passed by.
  
  Now nearing the end of his apprenticeship, Viktor prepares himself to rejoin the chapter as a member of the command structure rather than a whelp, scheduled to accompany the Ninth Devastator Company on an excursion to several Ork-infested systems that may contain ancient technology such as Standard Template Construct fragments, artifacts lost to the age of strife several millenia ago, or ancient ruins of old human settlements; perhaps even crafted by those that came before humanity eons in the past. Though many things are yet unknown, there is one certainty that all can count upon: in the grim, dark future, there is only war.
